Well, heroin detox is a part of an effective rehabilitation program. It’s the first stage for a person undergoing treatment for heroin addiction. Heroin detox has three stages. The first stage is called the medical stage. This is when the body is being purged of the drug, to make sure that there are no traces of narcotics left behind. The second stage is physical detox. At this part, nutritionists will design a particular type of diet for the individual to help restore the health of his body. The last stage is then the emotional detox. This is when a sense of drug-independence is instilled upon the individual.
