Anyone Know of Rehab in the Philadelphia Area That Will Take You Without Insurance?
Question by : Anyone know of rehab in the Philadelphia area that will take you without insurance?
I took my boyfriend to 3 different rehabs and none of them will accept him without insurance. They told him to go apply for medical through welfare. We don’t have time to waste doing all of this. He needs help right away and no one will help him. He is addicted to heroin and is becoming more and more depressed no one will help him. If anyone has information, please let me know. Thanks.
Thank you for your kind words and help. I’m happy he finally wants help and I want him to get it before he gets more depressed and gives up.

I know exactly how you feel!! It a shame that it’s so difficult to get someone into rehab when they need help. My boyfriend didn’t have insurance either and it was a pain to find a place for him. I ended up going online to find a free rehab for him. You could try asking the rehabs you already tried and see if they have any referrals. Try calling your local hospital too. It’s very admirable that you’re standing by him, he’s going to need all the support he can get. Heroin or any opiate is a lifelong addiction that is very hard to overcome. You should also look into going to Al-Anon meetings to better understand addiction. Tell him to be strong and never forget that there is people who have overcome this disease. If you ever need to talk please email me at [email protected]. Good luck!!

It’s too bad you live in the USA where 50 million people don’t have healthcare of any sort. This wouldn’t be allowed to happen in a civilized country.
In the USA everything is about free enterprise, profit, and every man for himself. If you are too poor…too bad.
Going cold turkey on his own will be miserable, but it is not life threatening. Good luck
