Consequences of Drug Abuse During Pregnancy Presentation. I Need Creative Ideas.?

Question by Rosey83: Consequences of Drug Abuse During Pregnancy presentation. I need creative ideas.?
I am taking a course in drug addiction and am scheduled to give a presentation on the consequences of Drug Abuse During Pregnancy. Because this is an upper level college course, I need to present for 50 minutes on this topic and make myself somewhat of an expert. The information gathering is not my problem, my problem is finding a creative and interesting way of presenting this information. I need some ideas that will keep college students attention and be extremely informative. For some guidelines I prefer not to do the typical power point or handouts, I would like to have live commentary or something to bring this issue down home. ANY HELP IS WELCOME AND NEEDED!!!!!!

Try your local health department. Since they are usually a free-based clinic, they see all sorts of people coming in and out of there, and im sure many are pregnant and on drugs. You could always ask a nurse from there to come talk to the class on some issues, or possibly tape an interview with her and show the class–like a movie.

It would be neat to find someone who has been on drugs in the past, and talk about the effects it had or has on their child, but I’m not sure how you’d go about finding someone willing to do that.

Try talking to social services, they probably have a representative that speaks to expecting mothers specifically about that, and can give you some tips or something.
