Substance abuse, often with undiagnosed mental illness, is ravaging our community. Addiction increases hospital, jail and social service costs. Nevada is among the top 10 states with most addiction and people not receiving treatment per capita. Overdose deaths here from 2000 to 2012 exceeded 7,500.
